Jean-Yves, Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA), holds a BSc (Hons) in Accounting with Information Systems from the University of Mauritius and is a Licensed Auditor registered with the Financial Reporting Council as well as a Public Accountant registered with the Mauritius Institute of Professional Accountants (MIPA).
He began his career in audit and accounting services and has built over two decades of professional experience with leading firms including PwC Mauritius, KPMG Mauritius, EY Luxembourg. He also led a team within the Accounting and Client Services division of APEX Group in Luxembourg, specialising in real assets and private equity structures.
Prior to joining Grant Thornton Mauritius, Jean Yves was the Director of Audit at Baker Tilly Mauritius. Throughout his career, he has developed extensive expertise in the audit of asset management and alternative investment funds, particularly private equity, debt and real estate funds, as well as in the assessment of complex Level 3 valuations. His experience spans a broad range of industries, including investment property, hospitality, aviation, manufacturing and textiles.
Jean-Yves specialises in the audit of consolidated financial statements and listed entities and possesses strong technical knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP and Lux GAAP. He also served on the ACCA Mauritius Network Panel in 2021.
